Canon Selphy ES40 Reviewed
Canon Selphy ES40 printer is a portable powered with technology of dye-sublimation. This a dedicated photo printer and can print on is 4 "X 6" (postcard size) Paper only max. Max Printing Resolution is 600 X 300 dpi. The printer costs $ 150. It comes with a semi-wide screen 3.5 "LCD and weighs less than 5 pounds to make it easy to carry. Printer interfaces include USB 2.0, PictBridge and memory card readers.
The print quality of this printer is better than what we expected it to be. Posters are good enough, without obvious bad shots. The colors are elegant, natural and production is digital copy pretty well. The prints turned out the same, we have pushed the prints per PictBridge or USB, which is a good sign of consistency.
Canon Selphy ES40 claims that can print 4 "X 6" photographs is 55 seconds. We decided to test the rate of printing, and we found the difference between reality and demand has been quite significant. Each photo has a mean time of 88 seconds. We printed five different photographs and took the average time that we recorded. The printer head seemed to stagger around from one end to another during the operation may be causing the delay.
Verdict: The Canon Selphy ES40 printer is good overall. It is perfect for those seeking to exercise their printer while on vacation. The print quality can be compared to those we get from pharmacies. The cost of prints are on the expensive side.
