Gigabit TAPs can be classified on the basis of three variables:

However, 10 GB TAPs can be deployed for monitoring large networks. They can collect data across the network and transmitted to the monitoring terminal.

Topology: Gigabit TAP can be configured for either aggregation or regeneration. In aggregation, TAP collects data from different access points, it is integrated into a common data stream and sends the network administrator. Regeneration is right in front of this process. In this case, a PCR to obtain information from data target segment and sends it to various network monitoring tools.
