Adding a conservatory blinds can immediately give your conservatory a welcoming atmosphere, adding warmth and color and take away that "being seen" feeling you may experience from a structure glass. The blinds can reduce the fading of upholstery and wood furniture and blinds are an excellent way to reduce glare in a Conservatory, too.
Are blinds a good idea for conservatory roofs? I always recommend a glass roof for conservatories where customers do not want to lose all the light in the rooms of the house which is built the conservatory. However, once again, this can lead to problems with glare on those rare sunny days! Stores provide the perfect solution: just pull the blinds for a few hours when the light is too bright and open again once the sun moved, ensuring non-stop light in the house.
There are many types of blinds you can choose from which the work on the glass roof, as well as windows.
1. Roller Blinds - These are probably the most cost-effective to add blinds to your conservatory. They open and close top to bottom using a pulley system. Black out material can be fitted with blinds rolls to completely block sunlight if you watch TV. roller blinds are easy to install yourself. There are also many self-build kits available in hardware stores and online.
2. Pleated blinds - They are ideal for a glass roof of a greenhouse. Mounted on a wire, they fold like a fan when closed and a very good protection against glare general. measuring and professional installation is recommended.
3. Venetian Blinds - Venetian blinds are slatted and are operated by a rope to the side. Although good for windows, they are not suitable for glass ceilings. Venetian blinds can also be a trap dust if the blades are cleaned on a regular basis
