If you're like me, you have hundreds of books on your shelf. And probably a few dozen more than you would like to add to your library. But with so little time and much to read, how are you going to read all these books? That's why I decided to learn speed reading. If you can learn how to improve your reading speed, you can read in 30 minutes what would take you three hours! Although there are many speed reading course online, the best thing to do is start with a simple speed reading test. This will help you learn where you are now, so you can plan where you want to be. Here is a simple test you can take now, to know what your reading speed.
Here's how it works: First, you need a stopwatch. Then you start the timer when you begin to read the text below. When you finish reading the text, stop the stopwatch. Simple, right? Start your reading the dotted line to the dotted line .. Start now!

Now there are 379 words in this passage. To calculate your reading speed you have to do some basic calculations, the calculator is very useful. First, divide 379 by the time it took you to read the passage in a few seconds. For example, 1 minute = 60 seconds, 2 minutes = 120 seconds and so on. Then time (x) 60. For example, if it took me 3 minutes to read this would like something like this: 379 ÷ 180 x 60 = 126 words per minute. Yes, I am a reader slow! Haha

* 110 wpm, slow reader, but you have many opportunities for improvement.
* 240 mpm, oral reader. You may change rapidly and significantly by striking subvocalization.
* 400 mpm, floppy ear. You can always push and speed up to 600 or 700 words per minute.
* 1,000 words per minute, visual reader. Your reading speed is the jewel of your CV. You do not need a speed reading course!
